Birds & Bats Unlimited provides world-class environmental assessments and research.
We have worked in seven countries on 64 projects (wind, solar, mining, rapid biodiversity surveys, and specialist studies). Based in South Africa we have experience in Papua New Guinea, Germany, Namibia, Angola, Israel and Tristan da Cunha and are willing to relocate for the duration of longer-term projects.
Using state-of-the-art GPS/GSM transmitters and the latest in bat technology to determine fine-scale habitat use, we are able to follow birds and bats in their use of space through high impact development sites. These data assist us in mitigating risks by mediating between conservation concerns and development – thereby keeping environmental impacts to a minimum.
Based in South Africa, Birds & Bats Unlimited has undertaken Scoping and EIAs for both local and international developers in countries including Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Angola, and Tristan da Cunha. Because we believe in sustainable development and entrepreneurship, we understand the importance of mitigating the impacts of your business without unduly compromising your needs. Let us help you achieve that.
Using modern technology and strategic monitoring, we:
- provide rapid faunal assessents.
- collaborate with other specialists to provide a broad-spectrum service.
- monitor birds’ and bats’ use of space in high impact development sites.
- mitigate risks by mediating between conservation concerns and development.
As recognised BirdLife and SAIEES specialists we follow BARESG and Bat Surveys Good Practice Guidelines.
